I.
What we believe
An app should be a quiet room, not a noisy lobby. We design software that earns its place on a person’s home screen by being useful, well-made, and untroubled by the fashions of the App Store.
We build for people who have a relationship with a subject — their plants, their cycles, their evenings, their habits — and want a small tool that respects that relationship. Every Olnesta app carries a steady persona at its centre: a botanist, a cellarmaster, a companion. The persona is not a chatbot. It is the voice the interface speaks in.
We do not chase scale. We do not run advertising. We do not sell or share what our users record. Most of our apps could be a third of their size if they trusted their users a little more — so that is what we try to do.

Practices
Four kinds of work, one temperament.
Each app made at Olnesta belongs to one of four practices. They differ in subject — what the app is about — but share a refusal of streak-shaming, dark patterns, and the rented-attention economy that has overrun small software.

Companion tracking
Long-arc trackers — cycles, moods, daily rhythms — paired with a steady character rather than a dashboard. Tracking with a companion, not a chart.
III · Practice Three
Contemplative tools
Sleep, ritual, dream journaling, evening wind-downs. Inward time deserves a low chrome, restrained palettes, and copy that reads like a margin note.
IV · Practice Four
Steady habit work
Read more pages, walk more steps, write fifteen minutes a day. Small, single-purpose apps where the habit is the only feature and quitting is not a moral failure.

On the studio
Olnesta Ltd is a UK-registered software company, founded in 2025 and based near London. We design, write, illustrate, and ship everything in-house. We take no outside investment. We don’t run advertising on our apps. The apps fund the studio; the studio funds the next app.
